ACORN prostitution sting caught on video is wave of new conservative activism
With the recent scandal involving ACORN employees giving out tips to those turning tricks and trying to hide it from the taxman, much has been made of the tactics by those behind the project. James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles blew open the story by posing as pimp and prostitute and asking for help securing a loan. They actually received help in New York, Washington D.C., and Baltimore. Whether or not the mainstream media covers this is another matter, but it is a massive story.
The videos are shocking and appalling, and ACORN is finally getting its just desserts as the US Senate voted last night to cut their funding from upcoming Housing and Urban Development Projects. The US Census cut their ties with ACORN last week.
Had ACORN been watching the activist scene from the Right and not just encouraging it from the Left, they might have seen O’Keefe coming. Continue Reading »
Obama to school children: Ask what you can do for your president
With the passing of Ted Kennedy last week, it is easy to recall the memories of “Camelot” and the lore of the Kennedy family. Much of that has to do with the rhetoric flourishes of Ted’s brother, John F. Kennedy.
The words, “Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what you can do for your country,” although ingrained in the hearts and minds of most Americans, seem to have been misunderstood by Barack Obama to say, “Ask what you can do for your president.” Continue Reading »
NBC selling “Yes we did” t-shirts
Barack Obama’s campaign slogan “Yes we can!” became “Yes we did!” on November 4, 2008, thrilling his supporters nationwide.
Evidently, NBC also was quite pleased with the win, and the news network is still celebrating.
NBC is selling “YES WE DID” t-shirts online as well as at its Manhattan company store in Rockefeller Center.
“We,” NBC? Do you have a mouse in your pocket or are you just admitting how deep you’re in the tank for Obama? Continue Reading »
A “fishy” e-mail I reported to whitehouse.gov
Dear Ms. Linda Douglas:
I saw you on CNN some days ago talking about how important it was to report disinformation on the health care reform system. You wanted to squash the rumors by getting the e-mails of individuals who sent them out.
Prompted by your call to action, I went through my own e-mail and discovered one sent to me on June 16, 2009 from one Barack Obama titled “This is why”. The e-mail address is listed as democraticparty@democrats.org.
You can read it all HERE, but allow me to point out the key parts that really stuck out as things that the administration seems to be against. Continue Reading »
Rules for Right Wingers
Dave Weigel points out the Right’s “new” fascination with Saul Alinsky on the Washington Independent today. It’s a good article, though I would make two minor clarifications.
First, it’s not that new. Over at the Leadership Institute, we’ve been talking about this book for years to everyone who will listen. College Republicans, libertarians, independent groups, and everyone in between have literally had copies of Rules for Radicals thrown at them (in the link I just found, I’m pretty sure I was the “provocative presentation” mentioned earlier). What is your major malfunction, Bobby Gibbs?
Not to be vulgar, but someone needs to play back Full Metal Jacket for White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and ask him: “What is your major malfunction, numbnuts?”
Gibbs, never ceasing to amaze by failing to act professional, has certainly redefined the position as one that requires total ignorance and no shame. Continue Reading »
Obama birth certificate controversy: How blind faith becomes a virtue
When did blind faith become a virtue?
I have asked this before, and the answer is never easy. But to try to simplify it: When the Left has decided something is a fact, it becomes one. Or, in the words of Vladamir Lenin, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”
Such is the case with the Obama birth certificate controversy. It is, in fact, a controversy that should never have existed. Continue Reading »
When political correctness comes before safety and honesty
Is race a detail that is too sensitive to be in a police report?
Now that the much anticipated “Beer Summit” is over, Professor Henry Louis Gates, Sgt. James Crowley, and Barack Obama now say that they can move on past the arrest incident and subsequent controversy surrounding the event. Continue Reading »
That Obama sure is a swell guy
A great photo, thanks to National Review Online:
Recession over? Don’t look at the stock market for the answer
If you happen to watch this stock market and pay attention to earnings you might be inclined to declare the recession over. Even though Italy just declared theirs officially over, I wouldn’t be looking at the six day rocket ship under the ass of the stock market to say things are totally back on track.
