On the Lighter Side of Things…Putin Whoops Obama’s Ass
Obammy recently visited Russia to hammer out his so-called “reset” agenda. Foreign policy aside, I couldn’t help but notice the oozing euphemism from the New York Times regarding Obama’s dismissive gestures toward the Russians.
“The decision to brush off the Russians on one of his two nights here miffed some in the Moscow government who did not understand why he would not devote the scarce time to his hosts. Mr. Obama had dinner with President Dmitri A. Medvedev on Monday and lunch with him on Tuesday. But with the second dinner slot unavailable, he ended up having breakfast Tuesday with Prime Minister Vladimir V. Putin, a known night owl not given to American-style early morning business meals.”
Now I know many of you apologetic leftists were thinking that this means Obama wanted to spend the evening in Russia with his family/mother-in-law. I have a different take, unsurprisingly. What self-respecting head of state would choose family over an evening with Vlad Putin?
As we have become accutely aware, Obama doesn’t enter arenas that he knows he cannot win. Step into dinner with Putin, and Obama’s likely to come out with a broken femur. Clearly Obama was not afraid of Medvedev - Putin was a different story.
Obama didn’t think he could handle Putin, and so he dissed him. I’m sure it had nothing to do with Putin’s advanced judo skills…;-)
