Remembering Tianamen Square
Both Democrat and Republican administrations have failed in dealing with China, and have been especially soft in dealing with their serious human rights violations. Republicans have been able to turn a blind eye in favor of the economic benefits despite their communist regime. Democrats are also hypocritical in light of their worldview of the role of the US military as a humanitarian organization.
And now, 20 years after the Tianamen Square massacre, no one seems to be terribly interested in remembering it.
Obama spent the morning giving a “Speech to the Muslim World” (whatever that means) and apologized for America, yet again. One would think that this anniversary merited the highlighted speech of the day. But I guess that would ruin the plans to meet Michelle and the girls in France for a grand ol’ time.
Meanwhile, our other government officials at the treasury department are crawling to the Chinese in the hopes of them continuing to support our debt. Twenty years ago seems far too far away.
