Whole Foods CEO enrages left-wing foodies with health care editorial

By KC Luciano, August 14, 2009 under News | 2 Comments

On Tuesday, an unlikely editorial was published in the Wall Street Journal. The article’s actual content is not so unusual for the Journal, but the author is. Whole Foods co-founder and CEO, John Mackey, penneShia LaBeouf goes grocery shopping at Whole Foods Market in LAd an article in which, among other things, he outlines eight deficit-friendly steps toward improving health care.

Titling the piece “The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare,” Mackey begins by quoting the one and only Margaret Thatcher (swoon):

“The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

Barack Obama’s campaign slogan “Yes we can!” became “Yes we did!” on November 4, 2008, thrilling his supporters nationwide.

Evidently, NBC also was quite pleased with the win, and the news network is still celebrating.

NBC is selling “YES WE DID” t-shirts online as well as at its Manhattan company store in Rockefeller Center.

“We,” NBC? Do you have a mouse in your pocket or are you just admitting how deep you’re in the tank for Obama? Continue Reading »

A “fishy” e-mail I reported to whitehouse.gov

Rep. Joe Sestak Holds Town Hall Mtg on Health Care In Philadelphia

Dear Ms. Linda Douglas:

I saw you on CNN some days ago talking about how important it was to report disinformation on the health care reform system.  You wanted to squash the rumors by getting the e-mails of individuals who sent them out.

Prompted by your call to action, I went through my own e-mail and discovered one sent to me on June 16, 2009 from one Barack Obama titled “This is why”.  The e-mail address is listed as democraticparty@democrats.org.

You can read it all HERE, but allow me to point out the key parts that really stuck out as things that the administration seems to be against. Continue Reading »

The misunderstood red-headed step-child of the post 9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Act

By 03Grunt11, August 12, 2009 under News | No Comments

Last week, President Obama unveiled the Chapter 33 post-9/11 GI Bill. The bill pays for a qualifying veteran’s tuition and fees up to the amount of the most expensive public undergraduate institution in the state in which that university is located, in addition to a generous stipend for costs of living and supplies. While the new bill has received ample publicity and enjoyed the eager anticipation of millions of veterans, a second benefit, the Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP), remains obscured and misunderstood. Virginia’s gubernatorial race turns desperate

By KC Luciano, August 10, 2009 under News | 1 Comment

Obama holds campaign rally with Governor candidate Creigh Deeds in VirginiaAt one point in time, it seemed like every Democrat politician with a Southern bent was pro-life. Of course, Teddy Kennedy, Al Gore and Jesse Jackson at some point were also opposed to abortion, proving that political expediency on the issue is a national phenomenon. These days, though, it’s more difficult to come across politicians above Virginia (err, well, Northern Virginia at least…) who willingly take on this label early on in their careers. But below Northern Virginia, or as some call “real Virginia,” political expediency still dictates that politicians seem favorable toward the pro-life position at various points in their careers. For the latest representation, look no further than Bath County state senator and Democratic nominee for Governor of Virginia, Creigh Deeds.

What is your major malfunction, Bobby Gibbs?

By Joe L-E, August 7, 2009 under News | 1 Comment

Obamas, Bidens Host White House Luau For Members Of Congress

Not to be vulgar, but someone needs to play back Full Metal Jacket for White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and ask him: “What is your major malfunction, numbnuts?”

Gibbs, never ceasing to amaze by failing to act professional, has certainly redefined the position as one that requires total ignorance and no shame. Continue Reading »

Obama birth certificate controversy: How blind faith becomes a virtue

By Joe L-E, August 5, 2009 under News | 6 Comments

President Obama gives a basketball to Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan in the Oval Office

When did blind faith become a virtue?

I have asked this before, and the answer is never easy.  But to try to simplify it: When the Left has decided something is a fact, it becomes one.  Or, in the words of Vladamir Lenin, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”

Such is the case with the Obama birth certificate controversy.  It is, in fact, a controversy that should never have existed. Continue Reading »

Obama, Biden talk with Prof. Gates, Sgt. Crowley over beers at White House

Is race a detail that is too sensitive to be in a police report?

Now that the much anticipated “Beer Summit” is over, Professor Henry Louis Gates, Sgt. James Crowley, and Barack Obama now say that they can move on past the arrest incident and subsequent controversy surrounding the event. Continue Reading »

NJ history of corruption stands alone

New Jsersey Corruption

After a bit of time away from the site, I figured it would only be appropriate to comment on my home state of New Jersey and what went down only a stone’s throw away from my law school in Newark.

Last Thursday, the FBI nabbed 44 people in a massive corruption-money laundering-organ trafficking scandal. Yes, that’s what I said.

And when I went to William and Mary, they told me about the concept of “good ole’ boys” as if I was going to be surprised by it.   I had no reason to suspect otherwise; In My Cousin Vinny, Billy Gambini reminds us of “Old South” values:  “We think they’re trying to set us up as patsies, Ma. You know how corrupt it is down here. They all know each other.”

But as if by providence, my return to New Jersey could not have come at a better time to remind me that southern state public officials could learn a thing or two about being corrupt from our state leaders. Continue Reading »
